How Brendan Survived a Student Loan

Brendan was a good student, particularly when it came to math. He finished school on a high, saying of school that he was not the most social person but he survived. His dad's job had him travelling all over the country and shortly after Brendan finished school his parents and sister moved down to North Otago which is down on the South Island. He went his own way, heading to Massey University in Palmerston North where he completed a four-year bachelor of engineering degree. For each year of study he took on about $9,000 of student loan debt,. half of that was fees, the remainder was course-related costs and living expenses.
