I do not recommend working with a friend when your friend or yourself is going to be of a higher status in that work relationship. I worked with one of my best friends actually. We had a children's entertainment business for a short time where we would provide entertainment for children's birthday parties. And she couldn't easily discard this role of being the boss. She took it very seriously and it had an impact in our relationship.
