In phonics, we are teaching pupils how to begin to recognize words. And then there's this long journey of learning to recognize words by using that by applying that to text. It's a bit like you're learning to play chess. You are teaching kind of a slightly simplified version of how of the relationships between graphing some phonemes between, you know, letters and sounds. So they can begin this journey of becoming experts at word recognition through the data as it were that they'll process through reading.
