The Drama of the Taiwanese Legislative Elections

In 1947, the Republic of China had legislative elections. There were people elected in all of the provinces that we know and love today. Several are no longer extant, either because they're not part of China anymore or because they've been absorbed into others. When they moved from the mainland to Taiwan to seek refuge, they brought as many of those legislators with them as they could. Those people retained their seats from 1947 to 1991.
