The Importance of Membership in Journalism
Journalism is very capable of mixing those two things up and using the same words. A lot of what works is not really subscription, it's somewhere between a Patreon and a subscription. People trust other people more than they trust faceless institutions. If you're thinking about doing your own podcast, don't let that scare you off.
