Effects of Renal Denervation on Blood Pressure and Medication Usage

This chapter discusses the results of a trial involving 337 patients who were randomized into two-thirds receiving renal denervation and one-third receiving a sham procedure. The study found that renal denervation may offer benefits to a subgroup of patients with resistant hypertension, leading to lower office blood pressure and nighttime systolic blood pressure.
