We Shouldn't Have Endless, Endless Commitment, Right?
i agree with you that the military takes on a mission, and i think can kind of put blinders on about its desire to show success for a variety of reasons. I want to go back quickly to this second lesson about listening to voices outside the main stream. The fundamental problem was rather that we adopted objectives that we couldn't achieve,. We clung to bad ideas that made sense politically, as we were talking about, but strategically were inert.
