The Life of William Tyndale
William Tyndale translated the first ever English version of the New Testament. Henry VIII bought up 6,000 copies and had them burned on steps of St. Paul's Cathedral in London. He then passed a new law saying that all Tindale's Bibles were to be destroyed upon contact. 85% of the King James Bible is literally cut and copied from his translation.
