What Is the Wisdom Function of Chan or Zen?
The same just happeningness appears as impermanence or emptiness, in both the perception gates and the action gates. Traditional action gates are thought, speech and bodily actions. When think becomes spontaneous, then you know, michael, from your own experience, that's the wisdom function. So in any event, this is a little bit of the background on ling, how he went from being very confused about himself to rather quickly and suddenly. It doesn't always happen that way, but at least in this story, he grew up really fast and became a famous master.
