The Importance of Subjectivity in Neurotic Depression

Depression is a way of not having full speech anymore meaning speech that matters about what is hurting you. The emotion of sadness for example as an effect of a certain way of dealing with the signifier of refraining from actually speaking and so if you conceptualize neurotic depression like that it also means that we have a clue about what we have to do in in treatment or transference of people who present themselves with depression to a psychoanalyst. It requires quite a fundamental attitude of an analyst that is quite different from what people imagine that an analyst would do.
