The Different Types of Stings

A sting usually appears as a red raised well with a puncture hole in the middle. The pain from an insect sting is calculated using something called the Schmitt Sting Pain Index. Most bees fall around level 1 to 2 while wasps are commonly level 3 and some species of wasps actually level 4, so they could be pretty darn painful. Severe allergic reactions should be treated with epinephrine auto injectors, things like the EpiPen,. These are very effective to counteract anaphylactic shock.
