The Denial of St. Peter
St. Peter pretended not to know Jesus when a servant asked him if he was one of his followers. He thought, well he might get arrested if he admitted to this and you know he even became disproportionately angry with this servant who identified him. It's a famous denial of St. Peter. Now in the history of art there have been many beautiful devotional paintings that refer to this denial. Andrzbilde are these 14th century paintings which show our Lord during the Passion surrounded by all the instruments of the Passion. They were called sometimes the Man of Sorrows where he stand in there covered in blood with a crown of thorns.
