Exhibition showcases South Africa's rich artistic past and contemporary art scene. Everything in the entire exhibition we've deemed an art object because it's more than just each other's area. And everything has got some aesthetic quality that is beyond what you need to function as that particular object. So like your granny knits are sort of like really amazing elaborate patchworky type quilts that's impractical to actually sleep on. You're not allowed to use it on the bed in case you spilled your tea or something like that. One of my favourite objects actually is... And it's a precursor to art. A million years old hand axe made by a human ancestor called Homeric Gastor. But
