The Case of William Melch at Dinkle

In April 2010, William Melch at Dinkle was charged with attempting to assist in the suicide of Nadia Kajooji and forbetting the suicide of Mark Dribra. His charges were ground breaking because assisted suicide is not illegal in the UK or Canada but it is under Minnesota law. In March 2011 he was found guilty of encouraging and advising suicide. He was sentenced on the 4th of May to 360 days in prison. Judge Thomas Newville also required him to return to jail on the anniversaries of his victims' deaths for the next 10 years.
