The Importance of Curb Parking in Manhattan
A third of traffic in congested areas are just people looking for a parking space. Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, has proposed policies that would increase the price of parking at the curb and give subsidies to private garages. John Avlon: My thinking is that if you were to charge even a little bit for curb parking in residential neighborhoods, you would see a lot of people reassess their thinking around car ownership.
