The Second Part of the Solo by Eric Shakman
Eric shankman's solo is an elegant eight bars of guitar soloing. Every part of it is very carefully considered. I think he probably worked out some othe rifts that he was going to play, but it also has a kind of naturalistic energy to it. And i want you to put your ears on and try to really appreciate each of the notes that he's playing.
There's nothing like a good instrumental solo—that moment when a lone player stands in the spotlight and takes the helm, leading the band in an uncharted direction. On the first edition of Strong Solos, Kirk takes apart a few of his favorite solos, which a special focus on players who use motivic development, also known as theme and variations.
