How to Be a Better Conversationalist

The most important conversational skill is learning to ask good questions. Treat attention as an on off switch and not a dimmer. Be a loud listener, make them authors, not witnesses. When people tell you stories, they don't go into enough detail. If you disagree with somebody, there's usually something deep down that you actually agree upon. And if you keep the gems statement in the centre, you can save a lot of relationships in the midst of conflict.
