I think generally these works are giving more of a kind of abstract idea of contemporary Europe and what could potentially happen. And I wonder why they, you know, this sense of imagining European nations whether that was to kind of free themselves from the constraints of reality. How do you write a novel has a long gestational period? then you've got to get it published, so by the time you publish it, events might be out of date.
