Is There an Emergent Quality to Cells?
Do you think there's an emergent quality to cells? That's why I guess what I'm talking about in terms of the limits of our knowledge. It's important to make a distinction between predictable emergent qualities and unpredictable emergent qualities. Both can be true. There are certain types of cell that we don't know about but can be known. They're knowable. And they have importance in how we imagine sort of understanding and manipulating cells. The other ones, we leave alone, maybe in the future, they will have impact.
