The Conquest of Athens by Miltides
All of the colonies associated with classical Athens were established during the time of Pisistratus. He essentially exiled most of his political rivals, forcing them to establish colonies abroad. One prominent noble and potential rival was dispatched to take an army to the Hellespont in order to recover Sijian and also establish a colony in the Thracian Chersones. Miltides fulfilled this through the conquest of both the locals, specifically the Dolaniki, and rival Greeks,. Eventually establishing his own tyranny, being subject only to Pisistsratus' overarching authority.
