Canola Oil and Blood Glucose

There's this sort of general idea when you think about plaque build up in an artery I think people associate that with it's like a fatty plaque, fatty build up and then assume that fat in the diet causes that over looking or just not being made aware of the fact that different fats affect that pathological process in a different way. Some of these unsaturated fats particularly in whole foods may be inherently beneficial for reducing the risk of that process. We use canola oil in our portfolio diet studies and it's used in the Nordic diet trials as well and there's also been some specific just canola oil studies and there doesn't seem to be any harm.
