How to Get the Most Out of Our Current System

From the perspective of a student who has no ability to change the system in which theyare going to be educated, what advice do you have about how to get the most out of our current system? Well, i teach these first year students in my seminar section of 20 students. I meet with them individually, and the first thing i say to each of them is their fresh coming in ember of their first year, i say, it's possible to get a spectacularly good education at columbia, and most of you won't.
