We're the only country in Europe that doesn't have an ID card system. The public like really quite happy with it as far as I can see from any polling. It feels like something that either party could have taken forward, but there's sort of opposition within the parties rather than the public. We've been through one kind of dreamland where a large chunk of the party was looking for a second referendum. And the second referendum would be a people's referendum, as if the first referendum was, I don't know, androids.
