The Advantage of Presumptuousness
The Israelites believed that birthright was some sort of assured salvation for their children. What we need to realize is that our kids do have an advantage, and the advantage is that they are around the oracles of God. And so it's not birthright. It's hopeful expectation for faithful covenant nurture.
