Dus, i always like to begin conversations with a focus on home. And for me, like one foundational place, whatever that place might be. Since we're talking about what i like to the shape of hope, i want to begin our conversation by reading a passage of your writing. In 19 76, my and stepfather moved from our two family flat on east lawn and kercheva, an increasingly dangerous intersection, to a painted gray brick three bedroom house on newport, one block over and a mile north. My mother divorced my father when i was two. He stayed in my life, but i also don't remember a time before my stepfather. The apartment on east lawn
