Writing a Book
I worry sometimes that spending so much time among untouchable objects is part of a larger metaphor for my life indicative of an unwillingness to touch the real thing, the difficult thing. I think what was going on with me through this writing process of excavation was realizing that I needed this tension between looking and looking away. And in writing the book, you know, it does feel like an attempt totouch the real thing as much as we can,. But I wonder if you would talk about your experience with that.
