Some people call Thwaites the quote on quote, Doomsday Glacier. The problem is not just at a meter, it's also going up at a very fast rate so that the next century is really difficult to deal with. Model after model shows that if we really turn down the heat and allow things to get back to where they were in past decades, then the processes that drive this melting will slow down.
