The Importance of First Line Medication in Hospital
In hospital, my preparation for these cases starts as soon as I get a pre-alert. So it's going to be an early second line medication if they haven't had a decent go at first line treatment to begin with. For me, we typically use Larazapam in hospital because of its longer half-life and less likely reoccurrence of status. But there are some situations whereby if you've got a short run time or if that patient might not have had,. say for instance, a definite administration of that medication. You want to give the best dose you can give as early as you can give.
