"The Have Known Life in Search of Paradise" is about the search for paradise. The author describes Varanasi as "the most intense place in India," where people burn their loved ones' bodies and put them into a river. She says she wanted to make sure that I'm always in the passenger seat, because part of the point of travel is being at the mercy of things you can't understand.
