The Importance of Rebels
Cainan, which I really liked in the novel, is a very Brigredi Niillic, Gritty character who's more smuggler than J.J. At this point, he's rejected being a Jedi. He hates his past. And we don't get any of that in the show. So there is kind of an argument for saying that this book really isn't super crucial anymore for going into this show. But for those who are committed to doing the entire story, I would say, check it out. It's not nearly as crucial as Dark Disciples for Clone Wars.
