What Do We Know About Dolphin Intelligence and Personality?
The first time John Lilly saw a dolphin brain, it was huge. And so he's like, wow, based on the size of that, they must be pretty smart. He really kicked off this interest in dolphins as being super intelligent and also possibly capable of language. Lily tried to establish a two-way contact by taking LSD and then giving the dolphins LSD before putting himself in one of those flotation isolation tanks. As you probably know, it did not work and it was frowned upon by the scientific community.
