At Netscape we thought of ourselves as the Rebel Alliance and Microsoft as the Empire. Luke wanted to figure out a way to grow the internet meadow so that it was way bigger than any walled off version. At the time, you couldn't really do the most basic things that would make the internet appealing to businesses. You could barely shop. The web did not have a memory.
