It's been a long time since our first episode on the topic of charter schools. We're basically waiting for the Supreme Court to tell us that charter schools are wait for it, actually private. So I want to sort of talk about this framing of so-called parental rights which definitely informs much of the charter school movement as well. It became more potent and acute in the 1990s as a kind of GOP wedge issue against the liberal state.
