Marx never entered a factory. His correspondence is filled with expressions of distrust for self-educated workers who came forth with half-bathed ideas for revolution. It is clear that the so-called proletarian movement was chosen by discontented and alienated bourgeois as their path to power. Intellectuals then remain leaders and actual dictators, whatever the nominal agent of revolution is. In the former European colonies, they have often been educated in the European universities like the Sorbonne by Marxist mentors.
