Identifying Tension in a Story
Tension is the thing that could go wrong until your audience or stakeholders act to resolve it. It's never about making up tension; if there weren't tension present, we'd have nothing to communicate about in the first place. When we do it well, we get people's attention and are in a better position to motivate them to act. I can't emphasize enough the importance of getting to know your audience and what matters to them.
