The female horse fly bites because she needs the protein in your blood to ripen her eggs. She has these sore blade like structures called stylets that run parallel to her probossis. And instead of a mosquito that just slips in your skin and slaps it up, the horse fly will land and use these two sore blades to rip through your skin and fill, soaring through your flesh.
