The Ascent of Jesus
Exodus 19: Whoever touched at the Mount shall surely be put to death. Another option, perhaps this is a prohibition against touching the divine. The image of the embrace as we read in John 20 verse 17 is rooted in atonement theology. And I do believe that the people who follow Jesus will one day be able to have a personal experience with the Master and thank him for doing what he did to fix broken things.
