CHAPTER

The Name It to Tame It Approach for Neurodivergent Children

Hamish: My son has learnt over years of observation that big reactions and meltdowns have afforded his sister support through tricky emotions. And now he often mimics this sort of behavior when he is struggling. Even though he doesn't face her neurodivergent triggers. He's becoming increasingly frustrated and aggressive when we try to acknowledge the underlying emotion driving the tantrum, says Hamish. Would love any insight or advice you can offer? would also love to hear more info on protecting or building more empathetic sibling relationships if possible. Particularly in the setting up of a neurodivergence child.
