John Plum is President Joe Biden's nominee to become the Department of Defense's first ever Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy. On Thursday he was answering questions posed by members of the Senate Armed Services Committee during his nomination hearing. Those senators were interested in a number of topics which included how can the United States protect its space-based assets from attack, especially from kinetic weapons systems like the one Russia tested last November.
