Glider pilots were trained to fight just like any other infantry. On D-Day they were given a slip of paper signed by Chatterton the CO which was basically a hasty return chit. They had no vehicles of their own operationally, they did back in the UK on the bases but operationally they didn't have their own Bren carriers or jeeps or lorries and anything like that at all.
