The Pandemic and Active Learning
Act learning has been around for a long time, but was really given a push by the pandemic. Many instructors had no choice but to teach on line and they were teaching synchronously. People don't like sitting there listening to a sort of thing in person. So using zoom and webaks, bluejeans and so forth to teach made faculty realize that they couldn't just keep teaching the way they were taught before.
