I can't think of a time when a town, or civilization as in general, playse plays a role. There is lots of towns in blood meridian, but they're usially destroyed. And there's places where the glanton gang go to brottles and indulge themselves in all kinds of ways. The idea of a society for mc carthy, isn't, isn't really there.
