The Male Hierarchy Is Contested

In chimpanzees, the males are typically alpha male than between 20 and 30. And so in females, I think the dominance is mostly a matter of personality and age. In males, it's a political structure where they need to get support and it's contested. At 59, she was mostly blind and she could barely walk anymore, but she was still the alpha female that would never happen to a male.
