The Democratic Party's Position on Abortion Is Shifting

The abortion issue is such a clear winner for them here, that it keeps it's a safe way to keep them from having to muck things up with, say, the transition. They can be on the right side, the social justice side of a social-oriented issue without having to take things into places that would hurt them. That's not necessarily where the heart of the Democratic Party or the liberal coalition is.
