Is the Kingdom of God in the Old Testament a Pattern?
The kingdom of god in that pattern, was not developed, rinvented by daniel. It exists already in the historical milieu for centuries before daniel. You can find it in assyrian sources. This patterning she find in some degree in herodotus. So this is something that was alive and well, and that the revelation of god to jewish people should use something familiar in their world is no surprise. They're unique because of what god conveys through them. But s not unique.
