The History of Measles
Virus spread north to southern Europe, the rest of the Middle East, and east to India, China, and Japan. Early writings indicated it was there by like 300 or 800 AD. As for Africa, measles didn't seem to establish there. Maybe because of lower population density,. possibly because of physical or landscape barriers making pathogenics change not super frequent. Or possibly it was there. And we just don't know about it because there aren't as many written records.
