The oiler number was first thought about by johan brother, jacob bernoli. If you have some money and you are getting paid interest on it, yet, after five years, how much money will there be? The intuitive answer is to say "infinite" But if every second of the day, that amount of money would not even infinitesimally reach infinity. This is still a thing in his generation - he wasn't even an oiler yet.
