The Importance of Metrics in Engineering

A successful end job team will help the engineering organ a number of measurable ways engineers should not only feel more productive, but be more productive. So I'm curious, what are the ways in which you measure these things around maybe like organizational health and effectiveness? First thing to acknowledge is that it's a really hard problem. You can create the wrong metric and create a bunch of perverse incentives. And so we're looking typically at quarters or halves. It's helpful to kind of look at trends over time.
