The 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment were called to join the 101st Airborne Division otherwise known as the Screaming Eagles. Easy Company and many other companies would be crammed in their thousands on the Samaria, a British Ocean liner that was built for the purpose of transporting just 20% of the people who actually went on this journey. Despite being a strict disciplinarian, Sobel would also come across as a man who would look for any excuse to punish his troops. The straw that broke the camel's back was when Sobel punished his second in command, the generally popular Lieutenant Dick Winters for arriving late for an inspection.
