Gender affirming care can be nothing more than a social transition. It might not use surgery or chemicals, but it can still have lifelong effects. By constantly telling a child he or she belongs to the other sex, you are emotionally abusing them just as it would be emotionally abusive to constantly peddle any other lie that confuses the child about his or her personal identity.
